CV means Curriculum Vitae, a Latin word which means a course of life. It is mainly for those candidates that have a lot of experience in their respective fields. It is an in-depth document that can be laid out over two or more pages and it contains a high level of detail about your achievements. The CV covers your education as well as any other events like publications, awards, honors, etc.

A Resume is mainly for those candidates that don't have much experience and we can also be called Freshers. It is a summarizing document typically not longer than one page as the intended reader will not stay on your document for very long.
